Eva Aronian, Violinist
Who did I shoot?
Violinist Eva Aronian is a winner of the 2018/2019 Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award and was awarded both second prize and the Aspen Prize at the 2016 Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal Manulife Competition. Her other awards include first prizes in the Canadian Music Competition and the 2015 Citta di Barlassina Soloists and Orchestra Competition, and the Borromeo String Quartet's Guest Artist Award.
As a chamber musician she has collaborated with numerous artists, including Kim Kashkashian, Roger Tapping, Laurence Lesser, Robert McDonald, Anthony Marwood, Lucy Chapman, Hsin-Yun Huang, the Borromeo String Quartet, and the East Coast Chamber Orchestra. She has also been invited to perform at the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, ChamberFest Cleveland, the Ottawa Chamberfest, and Yellow Barn.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the New England Conservatory (NEC) in 2017 studying with Donald Weilerstein. She is currently working towards completing her master’s degree in 2019.

Great looking architectural lines + Good face + Good light = worth the early start
Useful to know:
Just let it happen. Trust your photographer. Go along with what they tell you. Eva gave me full creative responsibility for our shoot, and went along with all my suggestions like a champ.
Approach it like a stage performance. You have to prepare for a photo session, no doubt. Clean clothes. ENOUGH SLEEP the night before. But once you’re there, it’s like you’re out on stage. You stop criticizing yourself, and just enjoy the music.
Fun Fact:
During our conversation, we found out that we were both in a long-distance relationship, and both agreed that it’s not THE worst thing.
